Professional tours

Our tours offer the unique opportunity to travel abroad and meet with your local professional counterparts in that destination. From practitioners in rural communities, to local NGOs, to prestigious institutions - you will return with an enriched understanding of how your profession works in another country. History, society and culture

Cultural tours

From the botanical histories of the Malabar coast to the gems of antiquity of ancient Anatolia – our cultural tours are thoughtfully curated and visit interesting and unusual destinations, revealing hidden facets of a country. We love to stay in charming boutique hotels, travel using a variety of local methods from rickshaws to rice barges, and enjoy a variety of interesting local cuisine and drink - all in the company of curious, like-minded individuals, with an expert tour leader and national guide.

Ocean and River Cruises

We organise a number of ocean and river cruises each year, ranging from larger scale ocean cruises to destinations like the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Nordics, to smaller scale river boat cruises in Europe, Asia and Australia. All our cruise packages include a variety of carefully picked land excursions with a local guide – covering culture, cuisine and history. Some packages may involve several nights on land before or after your cruise, depending on the destination and type of cruise.

I thought the organised tour for me was an excellent way for me to experience South Africa - happy to recommend Jon Baines Tours to other travellers. Really a lifetime experience. Tour leader was very good.

Personally, I think this was one of the best tours I have been on, although this was one of few group tours arranged for me. I loved the arrangements, choices of places to visit and the unity amongst group members. If I were to go on another arranged tour, my first choice would be Jon Baines Tours for variety of experiences and value for money.

I have had a wonderful tour. Janice was brilliant at organising us all and bringing us all together as a group. She was constantly upbeat, in control. Coco was a delight. I have enormously enjoyed spending time with her. Hiroshima Memorial museum was probably the highlight of the tour. The oyster meal in Hiroshima was a high point as was the Kobe beef dinner.
