Jon Baines

Jon Baines is the co-founder and managing director of Jon Baines Tours, established in 2007.

Following a diverse career path encompassing advertising, publishing, market research and running night clubs, interspersed with travel in Europe, east Africa and north and south America, Jon Baines ran a travel company. This travel company was part of a medical publisher and for 12 years Jon created, ran and often led special interest tours around the world focusing on medicine, education, social care, history and theology.

In 2007 Jon established Jon Baines Tours and in 2010 opened an office in Melbourne. As well as operating a diverse collection of study tours, Jon has also created a number of private study tours with a focus on health care policy. His wide ranging interests encompass archaeology, history, cuisine, economics, politics and many 'history ofs' (medicine, maritime history, religion etc). An inveterate traveller, Jon’s enthusiasm for people, places and history ensures his tours are always fresh, imaginative and distinctive.
