Many of our successful tours run so smoothly because of the relatively unsung heroes – people behind the scenes, or local people imparting their passion and knowledge on the ground. This issue's Human in the World is one such person – Amr Hassan, an Egyptologist and tour guide whose knowledge and passion brings ancient history to life for travelers on our tours to Egypt.
Warm and personable with a good sense of humour, Amr Hassan is a guide par excellence – he has guided on previous tours and is well loved for his kindness and knowledge – nothing is ever too much trouble.
Born and raised in Luxor, Amr is an Egyptologist and tour guide with a passion for sharing the wonder of ancient Egypt. Some of his most treasured memories from childhood are of doing tours with his dad and spending unforgettable moments around the Sphinx. Amr says he loves meeting people from all over the world, learning new things, and exploring life through travel, reading, and swimming.
He is also happily married and the very proud dad of two amazing kids!
