Iris Barry has more than 30 years' experience as a fully qualified professional Blue Badge Guide for Scotland and London. She lives in Strathmiglo, a small village in Fife, Scotland. Iris has guided many special interest tours in Great Britain for alumni groups and experts from the USA on topics ranging from medical history to British mystery writers. She has a long association with National Geographic Magazine as guest lecturer on expeditions throughout Scotland and as expedition leader in Cuba. Today she not only works as a free lance tourist guide but has built up a one-woman international consultancy business as a tourism development and training expert. Her work in this field has taken her to 20 countries including Mongolia, Borneo, Ukraine and Barbados. Educated at the Universities of Cambridge, London and Strathclyde (Glasgow, Scotland), her first career was as a professional field archaeologist.
