About the tour
Thessaloniki is easy to fall in love with, it has beauty, history and culture, remarkable cuisine and wonderful vast sea views. It has some of the most beautiful beaches and has some of the finest hotels and best restaurants in northern Greece. Each neighbourhood is its own world filled with charm and history. Old and new cohabit wonderfully. Enjoy local Greek delicacies, as well as visiting a local Greek vineyard to taste some of the local wine and food Thessaloniki has to offer, you will also spend a full day exploring the history of Thessaloniki.
This tour is led by Michael Dooley, President of Obstetrics and Gynaecology section of Royal Society of Medicine. Delegates will attend a day and a half of academic meetings with British and Greek speakers. A partner programme will also be available that will further explore Thessaloniki.

Itinerary at a glance
- 12 Jun (Wed) Thessaloniki: Arrive Thessaloniki and at leisure. Welcome dinner at the hotel’s beautiful rooftop restaurant with unlimited wine
- 13 Jun (Thur) Thessaloniki: Full day scientific meeting for delegates in the hotel conference room, including lunch. Partner programme: Walking culinary tour of traditional Greek delicacies and markets in the morning and afternoon at leisure
- 14 Jun (Fri) Thessaloniki: Half day scientific meeting for delegates in the hotel conference room. Partners at leisure or option to visit the Museum of Byzantine Culture. Depart hotel at midday for a 3-course lunch at a local Greek vineyard. After lunch enjoy a private wine tastings and sampling tour of the vineyard. This will include pick-up and drop off from hotel. Evening at leisure
- 15 Jun (Sat) Thessaloniki: Walking tour of old Thessaloniki, visiting the 15th century White Tower, the famous Rotonda of Thessaloniki and the old town of Ano Poli. Afternoon at leisure. Farewell dinner at a local Greek restaurant
- 16 Jun (Sun) Thessaloniki: Depart for airport
