Travel from Johannesburg into the safari country of Kruger National Park, along the world famous 'Panorama Route' through spectacular landscapes and end in the cosmopolitan harbour city of Cape Town. Your journey is punctuated with regular professional visits, providing insight into the social issues surrounding nursing in South Africa.

Marilyn is a Fellow of the Australian College of Nursing and is currently practising privately as a nursing consultant in continuing education and regulation. She grew up in New Zealand and undertook her nursing course at Auckland Public Hospital before travelling overseas and settling on undertaking postgraduate education at the Royal Marsden Hospital London. Over the 40 years of her nursing career, Marilyn has also specialised in nurse education from hospital-based programs to University, and nurse regulation in Australia with international links. She is embedded in nursing history and is the Chairperson of the Australian College of Nursing history group, a nursing philatelist, and family historian. Marilyn is co-editor and author of the book Why the World Needs Nurses: An Anthology of Perspectives and is a reviewer for the International Nursing Review. She has presented at and participated in international nursing conferences and initiatives. At the ICN 24th Quadrennial Congress in Durban, Marilyn was invited by the International Council of Nurses to mount a display of stamps and ephemera commemorating Florence Nightingale for the 75th anniversary of the Florence Nightingale International Foundation.
