About the tour

Cruise along the world’s longest river and marvel at its extraordinary monuments and the stark beauty of the surrounding desert; sit back and watch the clear desert skies as you sail at a leisurely pace through one of the most historically impressive countries in the world. Enjoy the comfort of the Nile Goddess river cruise ship, and stay in the historic Winter Palace Hotel in Luxor.

This tour includes 4 nights in Giza for professional visits including a dental clinic and school in Cairo and a clinic in Giza. There will also be dental lectures on the cruise and in Luxor, as well as guided private shore visits to sites of medical historical interest and the wonders of ancient Egypt.

This tour runs alongside a medical history tour led by two world-renowned authorities on the medicine of Ancient Egypt and participants are welcome to attend these lectures.

There is an optional 3-night extension to the great city of Alexandria and the battlefield of El Alamein after the tour.

The Nile Goddess is a five-star cruise ship with comfortable interiors, 47 spacious cabins and 6 suites, a range of facilities and excellent cuisine. The ship contains a restaurant, lounge and sundeck bar a spa with gym room, massage, sauna and Jacuzzi, a barbeque area on deck and an outdoor pool with bar service.

​Tony Druttman

Tony Druttman qualified from Leeds Dental School in 1981 following a brief career in Chemical Engineering. He gained a Master's degree in Conservative Dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute in 1987. Since 1999 he has been a specialist in Endodontics, has been President of the British Endodontic Society and is a visiting teacher at the Eastman Dental Institute CPD. He has lectured both in the UK and abroad and has contributed to a number of dental publications. He has a referral practice in the West End of London. Tony has led tours for us in Cuba, China and most recently South India.

  • 26 Nov (Tues) Luxor: Day at leisure or optional activities. Dental lectures. Farewell dinner in Winter Palace Hotel
  • 27 Nov (Wed) Luxor: Fly to Cairo or take extension to Alexandria.

Alexandria Extension

  • 27 Nov (Wed) Luxor / Alexandria: Flight from Luxor to Cairo. Drive via Wadi Natrun Coptic monasteries to Alexandria
  • 28 Nov (Thurs) Alexandria: Guided visit of the National Museum and the Catacombs. City orientation tour and visit Alexandria Library
  • 29 Nov (Fri) Alexandria: Visit El Alamein and the cemeteries. Return to Alexandria
  • 30 Nov (Sat) Alexandria: Transfer to Cairo airport to connect with departure flight
