Madrid is a city steeped in history and culture, a city full of passion and drama. It boasts world class museums, superb cuisine and dynamic architecture. From humble beginnings as a pre-historic settlement on the banks of the River Manzanares, it was not until the 17thcentury, during Spain’s golden age, that Madrid thrived politically, economically and culturally.
This tour explores the history, culture and architecture of Madrid, as well as exploring its rich past through visits to the Imperial City of Toledo and the monastery of El Escorial.
This tour has been put together exclusively for the West Kent Medico- Chirurgical Society and its members.
