Associate Professor Dr Vicki Kotsirilos AM, Awarded Honorary Fellowship of the RACGP, MBBS, FACNEM, FASLM.
Associate Professor Dr Vicki Kotsirilos AM is a respected general practitioner with many years of clinical experience who specialises in lifestyle, environmental, nutritional, and preventative medicine. Vicki lectures regularly and has spoken at numerous medical and public health conferences on topics that include wellness, the doctor-patient relationship, nutritional and environmental medicine, and lifestyle medicine to help prevent and treat chronic diseases. Vicki is proud to work closely with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners to advocate the importance of self-care, especially over the COVID pandemic.
Vicki holds a professorial position at the University of Western Sydney, and formerly with La Trobe University as an Associate Professor, Department of Rehabilitation, Nutrition & Sport Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, La Trobe University, and as an adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Monash University, Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, School of Public health up till 2018.
Vicki has published well over 100 articles in a wide range of medical journals and magazines such as the Medical Journal of Australia, Insight, Prevention magazine, Australian Doctor and Medical Observer with a distribution to over 30,000 Australian GPs, from 1998 till 2019 when the magazine ceased to be produced. She is widely quoted in the media.
In June 2016, Vicki was awarded a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia in four categories: 'significant service to integrative medicine, to health practitioner standards and regulations, to medical education, and to the environment'. In January 2017, Vicki was awarded an Australia Day Environmental Award by Bayside City Council. Vicki's goal and passion is driven in helping our society maintain a healthy community and population and preserving and protecting our natural environment for our future generations to enjoy.
